Texas has been practicing rainwater harvesting for centuries due to popular green movements. And Texans are showing a greater interest in reducing their consumption.
There are many advantages for rainwater harvesting such as:
- Rainwater is free. (Excluding collection and usage)
- Rainwater is sodium free.
- Since underground water is decreasing, harvesting rainwater is becoming more and more important.
In addition, when water supply becomes limited, practical solutions can fill the gap. Rainwater harvesting systems provide distributed stormwater runoff containment while simultaneously storing water which can be used for irrigation, flushing toilets, washing clothes, washing cars, pressure washing, or it can be purified for use as everyday drinking water.
