Three companies file bid for CPS Energy’s rooftop solar program – San Antonio Business Journal

Three companies have filed a bid with CPS Energy to install rooftop solar panels on homes and businesses across the municipally owned utility company's service area.CPS Energy issued an RFP for the solar power program earlier this year but set a March 6 deadline.An open records request filed by the San Antonio Business Journal reveals that three companies filed bids: Advanced Solar and Electric LLC Brightergy PowerFin Texas Solar Projects LLCCPS Energy staff are reviewing the bids, which will be awarded at a later date.Once approved, the winning vendor would be awarded a contract to install the rooftop solar panels for homes and small businesses throughout the utility company's service area.CPS Energy will buy the energy produced by those solar panels under a power purchase agreement on a dollars per megawatt-hour AC basis.
